Saturday Snapshot 11

Hey everyone, I’m sorry that ONCE AGAIN this post is not coming out on the correct day. I’ve barely been taking photos because I’ve been super busy with last-minute Christmas shopping so please excuse the poor quality of most of them.

Without further ado, here is what I’ve been up to this week!

I met up with Kate from Adventurous Kate for crêpes at Breizh Café, and the apple crêpes with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce were better than elementary school snow days. (Sorry for the wacky simile, it’s what immediately came to mind when I thought of the best thing ever.)

Dinner Party

Last night I went to my friend’s beautiful house for a dinner party. I absolutely love her taste in just about everything, but considering the fact that she’s a Parisian interior designer that probably makes sense.

Pierre Herme

While I do have a thing for the macarons at Laduree, the Christmas-themed ones I tried at Pierre Hermé kind of blew my mind; I especially adored the white truffle and foie gras flavors. Who else could make a FOIE GRAS macaron taste good?

  1. Mmm, that sounds decadent! I love salted caramel. As for macarons, while they look adorable, I don’t really like them. But I am intrigued by fioe gras. I’d give it a try just for the experience.

    • You haven’t had macarons until you had them at Pierre Herme… the flavors are extraordinary. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth myself but Pierre Herme is honestly really good!

  2. I love Macarons and Laduree best of all. This week I had the best white chocolate raspberry bundt cake from “Nothing bundt cake” the latest in specialty baked goods in Emeryville, California.

    • Laduree is very good, the macarons are more traditional than at Pierre Herme – I love both!

  3. Your photos were great! I didn’t know they made macrons with white truffles and foie gras. The best thing i had to eat this week was Lou’s short ribs and vegetables.

    • Thanks, Gamma! My favorite was the white truffle macaron, it tasted exactly like truffles. And there is nothing in Paris as good as Papa Lou’s short ribs!! Love, Ashley

    • I tried making them at home and it’s a lot harder than it looks! Oh well, now I have an excuse to buy them for lunch :)
